:) GREETINGS FROM THE GUIDANCE OFFICE !!!
My name is Meredith Fowlie and I am extremely blessed and excited to be at Southport Central School as their Guidance Counselor for my third year. (This is my 11th year in Education, having been an Elementary School Teacher as well as a Guidance Counselor in both Massachusetts and Maine, in private and public schools.
I liked teaching, but I LOVE being a Guidance Counselor. I am thrilled to have the opportunity here at SCS to work one on one with students, in small groups, and also teach large classroom guidance lessons each week. (I teach three different groupings of grade levels at a time… PreK/K, 1/2/3, and 4/5/6.) These groups are excellent in being able to tackle various topics at their appropriate developmental level.
I often utilize literature, a children’s story book, to introduce a new concert (i.e. acceptance, responsibility, selflessness…) Some of the students’ favorites have been “A Bad Case of Stripes,” “Enemy Pie,” and “Spaghetti In A Hotdog Bun.”
I am more than willing to meet with parents at any time if they have concerns to pass on about their son(s)/daughter(s).
Thank you for checking in to learn more about SCS’s Guidance Program! :)
